Celebrating Women in Stand-Up Comedy Japan with Not-Just-A-Diversity-Hire Event | Talking with Comedian Yuki Nivez

Yuki Nivez is a stand-up comic in Tokyo who tells us about "Not Just a Diversity Hire" the all-woman standup comedy event she set up on 26th of March to celebrate women in Japan who are funny & female while raising money for UN Women projects that empower women around the world.

Yuki explains how doing stand-up comedy has helped her overcome hurdles and become more confident, even doing this interview with me was a new challenge she says she wouldn't have been able to do 2 years ago, but after her experiences doing stand-up she now can. She has also challenged surfing and sky-diving.

When I asked her what she wants to do in the future, she says she wants to get into film making as well- love this passion to take risks and try new things! Until that happens she will continue teaching Japanese and doing Stand-Up events whenever she can.
