Sustainable MCT Michinoku Coastal Trail, Tohoku Films & Community News - Entrepreneur Kumi Aizawa

Kumi Aizawa is such an inspiration not only in the work she has produced, but the transitions and collaborations she does with various communities, creators and officials to make projects a success over the long term- a perfect example of an entrepreneur making sustainability a reality. Kumi Aizawa is a trained architect, but also a film producer, non-profit founder, editor, consultant and educator who has been focused on restoring, managing and promoting trails along the coastline in Tohoku called the Michinoku Coastal Trail.

Kumi's films focus on important stories - here we talk about the 3-films she made with Director Rysuku Hamamoto (Director of Drive My Car) featuring the stories as told in conversations by local Tohoku disaster survivors after March 11th 2011. local stories.

Kumi has also helped train, build and maintain sustainable hiking trails in the Tohoku area along the coast, especially the MCT (Michinoku Coastal Trail) which opened in 2019 to promote the beautiful natural sights and friendly Tohoku communities to visitors.
