Samurai Sword Culture Past + Present | Paul Martin

Paul Martin is Japan's leading non-Japanese expert of all things Japanese sword. His interest in sword culture came from his time working at the British Museum.

Since he has lived and worked in Japan, he has written and translated sword-related books, appeared in many Japanese TV shows, won sword contests, helped people restore swords, appeared in and consulted on sword related movies, and has written many articles on Samurai heritage and culture.

Paul regularly introduces the work of artisan swordsmiths, restoration and cleaning of swords, interesting Japan travel and culture themes and more on his YouTube channel and other social media.
